Civil War Oddities

Join us at McIntire Library on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. as we mark the 150 year anniversary of the end of the Civil War. Chris Hart, historian and Program Development Director at Roscoe Village, will share and discuss some of the strange events and coincidences that occurred during this epic four year battle including strange deaths, chance meetings, and unsolved mysteries. Free reservations may be made by contacting the Reference Department at 740/453.0391, ext. 116 or 132.

Tea and Tranquility

Join us as we explore the ritual of "tea time" as a special respite in the day. Debra Knapke will demonstrate how to observe the "art" of tea time as a break from routine that can be both relaxing and refreshing. We'll learn about the cultural aspects of the tea ceremony and observe how to properly brew a cup of tea. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own favorite tea cup to this program as we will sample different teas. Registration is required and limited for this free program. Contact the Reference Department at 740/453.0391, ext. 116 of 132 to make your reservation.
