Mission Statement
The Muskingum County Library System exists to serve the citizens of its county by:
- Facilitating access to material in a variety of formats;
- Supporting their education from childhood through their adult years;
- Connecting them with information to locate answers to their questions; and
- Introducing and encouraging the pleasure of reading in their lives
Vision Statement
The Muskingum County Library System is the Information Destination of choice to meet the educational, informational, technological and cultural needs and interests of the people in the communities we serve.
The Muskingum County Library System is Your Information Destination in southeast Ohio. The library system is comprised of John McIntire Library and five branch libraries serving Dresden, Duncan Falls/Philo, New Concord, Roseville and South Zanesville. In addition, the library offers Outreach and Extension Services.
Traditional library resources such as books, periodicals, and reference materials are available through the library system. However, library customers also have access to much more. Audio Books allow you to listen to a new novel or a favorite author as you drive to work or accomplish other tasks. Large Print books make reading more convenient and comfortable. The library’s collection of CDs can be browsed or you might choose to borrow a video or DVD. Teens may enjoy the collection developed with their unique interests and needs in mind while children can participate in a variety of story time and family programs.
