Created Equal: America's Civil Rights Struggle Film Series
This program, provided by the Nelson T. Gant Foundation and hosted by John McIntire Library, is a series of film screenings and discussions centered around America's Civil Rights struggle. The programs will take place in the auditorium of John McIntire Library during the months of February through April and are titled:
The Abolitionists - February 22nd, 1:00 pm
Slavery by Another Name - March 8th, 1:00 pm
Freedom Riders - March 22nd - 1:00 pm
The Loving Story - April 5th - 1:00 pm
Created Equal: America's Civil Rights Struggle is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities that uses the power of documentary film to encourage community discussion of America's civil rights history. NEH partnered with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to develop programmatic and support materials for this series. All films will be followed by a discussion facilitated by humanities scholars Dr. Morton Bach and Mr. Michael Kline.
