Adult Coloring Clubs are an emerging interest and growing trend across the country. Coloring fans come to the hobby for a variety of reasons. Some consider it a social activity while others see it as a way to escape the daily grind. The coloring book can be a major source of relaxation and can inspire creative thought. Interested adults are invited to join us at John McIntire Library to tap into their creative side, unplug, and reset their brains. Two sessions will be offered, October 3rd and 17th, and interested adults are invited to attend one or both sessions.
Stop by the lobby of John McIntire Library during October to see works by local artist Kay Israel and photographs by Justin Murrey.
The Land of Legends Wood Carvers Club began in 1993 with 14 charter members and now boasts 45 members from the Newark and surrounding area. The group meets from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the First Baptist Church located at 1000 Granville Road in Newark. The purpose of the club is to promote the art of woodcarving and sculpture throughout the area. This display will feature Christmas and bird carvings along with some work by Dr. William Black of Zanesville.
