What is beauty? Join us at John McIntire Library on Wednesday, May 20 when Debra Knapke will lead our exploration of the ever changing and idealized concept we call beauty through historical and present views of art, architecture, design, plants, gardens and people. Also, as part of the Art and Gardening Lecture Series presented by the Zanesville Museum of Art and the library system, you'll learn about events celebrating the beauty of nature: the Museum's Art in the Garden Gala and Garden Tour. Boxed lunches are available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12 noon.
Young adults in Grades 6-12 are invited to join us at JohnMcIntire Library Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, May 9 @ 11 a.m. to learn more about a new group for Young Writers. You can play an important part in starting this group for people just like you to share your stories, get feedback on your poetry, participate in writing exercises, and meet other people who love words and writing as much as you do. Contact Elizabeth Christy for more information @ email@example.com.
The Friends of the Library Book Store is now open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. This allows customers an additional 30 minutes to browse and buy gently used books. The Book Store is also open Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds from the Book Store are donated to the library system to support library programs, resources, materials and experiences at the 6 public libraries in Muskingum County. The Book Store is open to the public. For more information and to volunteer, contact Rob Cook at 740/453.0391, ext. 113.
