It’s show time at your 6 public libraries! The library system has nearly 23,000 DVDs and videos for children and adults. Fiction may be borrowed for 1 week, Non Fiction for 4 weeks. You pop the popcorn. We’ll supply the movie!

NetLibrary Downloadable Audio Books

Magazines and Newspapers

The library subscribes to over 125 magazines and newspapers. The current issue of magazines can be enjoyed in the library. Other issues may be checked out for up to 2 weeks.

Online Book Clubs

Join our Online Book Clubs and start reading books in your e-mail. Give us 5 minutes each day, Monday through Friday, we’ll send you a portion of a chapter to read. After you’ve read 2 or 3 complete chapters from a book, we’ll start sending you a new book.

If you’d like to finish a book, stop by the library and pick up a copy. Every week we feature new books.

TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they’’ love. TumbleBooks are created by taking picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture books which you can read, or have read to you.

Can’t find what you are looking for in the Muskingum County Library System collection? Click on Ohio Libraries Share. This gives you the ability to search for and request materials from other libraries in Ohio. It will not allow you to request materials included in the Muskingum County Library System collection. Further, most often new books are not available through Ohio Libraries Share.

Genealogy Library

The Muskingum County Genealogical Society Library is located on the second level of John McIntire Library. The Genealogy Library is operated by volunteers of the Genealogical Society. For more information about the Genealogy Library, the organization, and their publications click on www.rootsweb.com or call 740/453.0391, ext. 139. The general hours of operation of the Genealogy Library are:

Monday, Friday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday – 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

PLEASE call to confirm hours as the library is operated by volunteers and the hours are subject to change.
